Cornish Interiors worked with Jill Stein Interiors and local architects Gillespie & Steel to design this luxury villa in Barbados. Situated right on the beach front in the parish of St. Peter it offers up to ten guests the ultimate in contemporary luxury. Using a mix of local coral stone for feature walls and American oak flooring to create a calm backdrop in which to introduce beautiful furniture and striking artwork. Furniture, lighting and accessories for the project were sourced on island, from the USA and Europe and this process was coordinated by the interiors team, organising shippers and deliveries for a timely fit out.
Finishes were chosen to ensure the inside and outside areas flowed together, practicality was key as the property is rental, and the climate in Barbados meant careful attention to detail was needed in specifying finishes which would stand up to the heat and humidity, ensuring the property doesn't just look good today, but will stand the test of time. Classic Verpan shell pendants hang as features over the two stairwells, which lead up to 5 large ensuite bedrooms, each with a different natural stone finish. Bespoke artwork was commissioned for each space and furniture sourced to subtly echo the beachfront location. Downstairs was fitted with an Italian designer kitchen, a bespoke dining table to seat 12 and a home cinema, all rooms flow onto the outside terrace. There's also an air conditioned study and a gym space.
All design details were thought of, as with many of our projects, down to cutlery, crockery, bedding and books, so the project really is turn key.
