OUR PROJECTS

THE PICKWICK INN
16TH CENTURY INN
– RESTAURANT

The Pickwick Inn restaurant and bar, is situated in St Anns Chapel, Bigbury near Kingsbridge, just a few miles from Bigbury Beach. This high profile building was near dereliction when it was purchased, but once planning permission was granted, the new owners set out on a project to bring it back to life as an outstanding village pub.

We were commissioned to undertake the interior design and went about the project by sympathetically restoring some of the original features - the building has its own chapel which became a sought after eating space! We sourced reclaimed mismatched tables and chairs to give the pub a relaxed informal feel, and the walls were decorated with an array of Italian themed artwork to compliment the food served. We framed corks, old menus, and even pasta! We managed to find some original cart wheels and barrels to convert into interesting coffee tables, and worked out a lighting scheme to make the very low ceiling space feel cosy.

Now complete, the 16th century Inn and restaurant and provides a relaxed and cosy environment for the local community and visitors to the South Devon coast alike.
